Maine Coon
About the Maine Coon
The largest domesticated cat breed, with males weighing up to 11 kg. Native to Maine and the official state cat. Their bushy tail, tufted ears, and large paws are adaptations for harsh winters. Often called the gentle giant of cats. Despite their size, they retain kitten-like playfulness throughout life. Legend says they are a cross between raccoons and cats (biologically impossible). A Maine Coon named Stewie held the record for longest cat at 123 cm.
