Burmese
About the Burmese
Developed from a single brown cat named Wong Mau brought to San Francisco in 1930. She was found to be a Siamese-Burmese hybrid and became the foundation of the breed. All Burmese descend from Wong Mau. Often described as bricks wrapped in silk due to their surprising weight. Extremely people-oriented — they do not do well when left alone. Known for being vocal but with softer voices than Siamese. Keep their kittenish playfulness well into adulthood.
