About the Siamese
One of the oldest recognized breeds, originating in Siam (Thailand) where they were temple cats. Their distinctive point coloration (darker extremities) is caused by a temperature-sensitive enzyme. Born white and develop points as they grow. Known for being extremely vocal with a loud, distinctive meow. One of the most intelligent cat breeds. In ancient Siam, they were believed to receive souls of deceased royalty.
