About the Egyptian Mau
One of the few naturally spotted domestic cat breeds. Mau means cat in Egyptian. Believed to be descended from cats depicted in ancient Egyptian art 3,000+ years. The fastest domestic cat, reaching 30 mph. A scarab beetle marking on their forehead is a breed characteristic. Possess a unique flap of skin extending from flank to back knee, allowing longer strides. Very loyal to their families but shy with strangers.
