About the Manx

Famous for being tailless, caused by a natural genetic mutation on the Isle of Man. Not all Manx are tailless — they come in four tail types: rumpy (no tail), rumpy riser (stub), stumpy (short tail), and longy. Their hind legs are longer than front, giving a rabbit-like hop. Excellent jumpers and hunters. One of the oldest natural breeds. The tailless gene can cause Manx Syndrome (spinal problems).
